Swallowed by a cab.
Oh kiss me! Take me all in. Welcome me in to your embrace like a friendly taxi driver greets his next passenger. I’ll sit in your lap; I’ll give you my stories from life and those from the depths of my mind. Bring me around, wouldn’t you? But turn off that meter. Turn off that meter and we’ll run on the speed of spinning wheels, four bright eyes staring out through that windshield into that even brighter space called life outside.
‘I could drive alone,’ the taxi driver said. ‘In fact, I do that most of the time. But it’s nice having you with me.’
I smile and tell him that it’s my pleasure.
